Interview with Len Jui, KPMG partner who was educated and trained in the UK and US and now has his roots in China

I had the pleasure of meeting you at IOSCO Standing Committee No. 1. You were representing the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) at that time. Please, tell us more about your role and responsibilities at the US SEC and about its policies relating to participation in international organizations such as IOSCO.

I had a wonderful experience at the US SEC. The US SEC is the pinnacle point of the US Accounting and Auditing profession. I was an Associate Chief Accountant with the Office of Chief Accountant in the International Group. The staff team who I worked with at the Office of the Chief Accountant, Division of Corporation Finance, Division of Enforcement and Office of International Affairs had some of the brightest people I have met professionally and personally.

During that time, I represented the US SEC on IOSCO Standing Committee No. 1. My participation as a member of IOSCO Standing Committee 1 was mainly on the Auditing Subcommittee which focuses on the oversight of global accounting profession, international auditing and ethics standards-setting. IOSCO Standing Committee 1 also worked closely with audit oversight regulators across the globe.
